Presentations

Paper presentation format in the conference includes multimedia presentations (10 minutes presentation and 5 minutes discussion) presented in English. Speakers will be required to report to the technical support staff in Conference Room at least 10 minutes prior to the start of their presentation session with their PowerPoint presentation saved on one of the following formats: USB Flash Drive, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM. Also remember it never hurts to bring two formats (ie: USB Flash Drive and CD-ROM), just in case. Acceptable file types: *.ppt, *.pps, *.pptx, *.ppsx, *.pdf.

Conference FAQS / find your answers

Within 2 weeks from submitting abstract each participant receives first review telling if the scope of their research fits conference programme. Together with this information, conference bank account details will be sent. Please note that paying the conference fee does not grant accepting full paper to the conference, as the reviewers might first request to implement some changes in the papers. Therefore it is recommended to postpone conference fee payment until full paper is reviewed.
There are two ways to be a part of 15th Students' Science Conference:
  1. as an author publishing and presenting paper (please note both documents are required)
  2. as an auditor without publishing (call for auditors will be open soon)
The visa invitation letter is sent to all the participants who request it following procedure:
  1. Participant submits research abstract
  2. Our reviewers check if this research fits 15th SSC fields (check above)
  3. Participant receives information about review together with payment details
  4. Participant sends fee payment confirmation to office@ssc.pwr.edu.pl together with personal information required for visa invitation letter.
  5. Within 7 days  after conference payment participant will receive an email with conference invitation. If needed, a copy of invitation will be sent via snail mail or fax.
This procedure was designed to ensure our international guests will receive their invitation early enough so they could book their tickets in advance. Please note that paying conference fee is not a guarantee of accepting the paper to SSC. This will only happen if the participant will apply all the changes suggested by the reviewers during single blind review process.
Place in University Guest Rooms is for people who come to Wroclaw day before the conference, opening ceremony is here on Wroclaw University of Science and Technology in 1st day of the event and then all participants go to hotel where conference will take place. We will have a discount price offer in our University Guest Rooms. You are welcome to check them on the website www.noclegi.pwr.edu.pl/ Please ask for the offer at office@ssc.pwr.edu.pl. Accomodation in our University Guest Rooms can be included in the conference fee on demand.
  1. Candidate need to create an account on ssc.pwr.edu.pl;
  2. Upload the article written according to the guidelines (described on the website) on the internet account before the application date;
  3. After the date of registration, articles will be examined in terms of the topic, format and page quantity;
  4. Further on, the articles will be directed to review by the internet system;
  5. Subsequently, an information whether the article is approver or rejected will be sent through/visible at candidate account;
  6. In case the article will be accepted, the Candidate should transfer the registration fee to SSC account, which can be found on ssc.pwr.edu.pl.
 
The conference fee for early registration is 50€ (210 PLN) and for late registration  65€ (275 PLN) .
  Deadline for payments: TBA
  The fee includes:
  • Full alimentation (breakfast, coffee breaks, lunch, dinner) during the conference,
  • Participation in  workshops and certified training sessions aiming to support your early steps in scientific career,
  • Participation in all inclusive conference banquet, conference trip and other networking parts of the programme,
  • Extensive conference welcome pack including conference proceedings.
Hint: Do you want to take part in the conference, but you do not have funds ? Remember that you can be awarded additional financing for Scientific Conference by heads of institutes and departments, by the dean of your faculty and also by the Vice-Rector for Education! You just need to submit a well argumented application to a responsible person.

Conditions / small set of rules

  1. The deadline for abstract submission is 16.05.2017 and the deadline for paper submission is 30.06.2017.
  2. The main author and co-authors of the article can be all regular students and PhD students (at the day of the registration).
  3. In the case of work carried out by several people, the person submitting the article is required to provide a list of contributors.
  4. The conference fee is 50€ (210 PLN) if registered and sent abstract before 24.04.2017, for later registration it is 65€ (275 PLN).
  5. One person can be the main author of maximum two papers and co-author of one. In the case of sending two articles as main author there is extra payment – 25€ (110 PLN).
  6. Registration of participant takes place only through the Internet Conference System. Each participant has an individual account through which they register a paper and through which all the announcements and messages will be sent.
  7. The Internet Conference System does not accept papers after the deadline.
  8. Article should have a maximum of six pages and be written only in English.
    1. Articles should be composed according with the templates (DOC files) for articles ([PL]  [ENG]) and for abstract ([PL]  [ENG]).
    2. The article should be sent both in PDF format (*.pdf) and Word file (*.doc or *.docx). In addition abstract should be also sent in both files.The templates are properly formatted, so please do not change anything.
  9. Submission of a paper is associated with transferring to the organizers of the Conference the rights to publish and share the paper in printed or electronic form.
  10. Payment of the conference fee is a requirement to participate in the Students’ Science Conference (SSC). The only recognized form of payment is a bank transfer or a deposit to the conference account.
  11. The conference proceedings will contain only those works whose author or at least one of the authors will participate in the Conference.
  12. Accepted articles will be presented during the thematic sessions.
  13. Decisions of the Scientific Committee are final and irrevocable.
  14. All the conference participants need to be at least 18 years old at the day of registration.
