Idea / history of SSC

The First Student Conference was held in Wroclaw on 19-20 May 2003. The main  goal of this conference is to create possibly  the best conditions for the development of the talented and hardworking students, on whom, in a few years, the development of the country, the region, and the University will depend.

The Conference was conceived as a forum for the presentation of scientific activities of students. Treated as equivalent there are achievements resulting from the implementation of individual work of the students, from their research or from their participation in research teams, either in institutions or in their departments.

In order to maintain the interdisciplinary nature of the thematic sessions  while allowing students and doctoral students with similar interests to meet in  one time, each participant will choose the scientific discipline or disciplines that best suit their article topic. This will allow us to choose the reviewers and create interdisciplinary sessions for which there will be  the highest demand. It will also even out the level of the competition in  various research topics, which will contribute to the increase in the quality of the content at the conference.

After many years, the conference comes back to its origins. Throughout this time, Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUST) and the city it is located in have changed incredibly. Our University is one of the top Universities of Technology in Poland, with cutting edge facilities and laboratories, like BEM, one of the top 500 computers in the world, or an acoustic chamber better than any in 500 km area. A place where academic traditions meet innovation, a powerful incubator of students’ ideas, out of which SSC can be a great example.
Wroclaw, host of Euro 2012, European Capital of Culture 2016 and X Games 2017, the city of 100 bridges, city of innovation. It is a place you can fall in love in, whatever your travelling preferences are. Amazing architecture, beautiful nature, interesting shows, festivals and other events are waiting to be discovered. It is not yet common for tourists, so you can easily feel home once visiting capital of Lower Silesia.

Our Conference programme will allow you to discover amazing secrets of both of them.

Conference FAQS / find your answers

Within 2 weeks from submitting abstract each participant receives first review telling if the scope of their research fits conference programme. Together with this information, conference bank account details will be sent. Please note that paying the conference fee does not grant accepting full paper to the conference, as the reviewers might first request to implement some changes in the papers. Therefore it is recommended to postpone conference fee payment until full paper is reviewed.
There are two ways to be a part of 14th Students' Science Conference:
  1. as an author publishing and presenting paper (please note both documents are required)
  2. as an auditor without publishing (call for auditors will be open soon)
The visa invitation letter is sent to all the participants who request it following procedure:
  1. Participant submits research abstract
  2. Our reviewers check if this research fits 14th SSC fields (check above)
  3. Participant receives information about review together with payment details
  4. Participant sends fee payment confirmation to office@ssc.pwr.edu.pl together with personal information required for visa invitation letter.
  5. Within 7 days  after conference payment participant will receive an email with conference invitation. If needed, a copy of invitation will be sent via snail mail or fax.
This procedure was designed to ensure our international guests will receive their invitation early enough so they could book their tickets in advance. Please note that paying conference fee is not a guarantee of accepting the paper to SSC. This will only happen if the participant will apply all the changes suggested by the reviewers during single blind review process.

You are welcome to check them on the website www.noclegi.pwr.edu.pl/ Please ask for the offer at office@ssc.pwr.edu.pl.
